Vintage Circus Themed Hooping Performance

Last week we got the privilege of joining 18 other hoopers and 60 other performers for an amazing circus themed party orchestrated by Funtime Funktions. A Minnesota company was celebrating 50 years of business and they dreamt up the idea of having a burlesque circus themed celebration. Everything about the event was outstanding. Performances took place one after another in-between dinner courses. It began with 20 hula hoopers putting on an LED hooping performance in the red carpeted isles between guests, and ended with walking dessert tables and the whole mix of costumed performers singing happy birthday as we played amongst a shower of shining streamers. We are so happy and thankful we got to be a part of such a fun event. It was also a great opportunity to meet other fabulous hoopers from around the Twin Cities.

We pulled our vintage circus costumes together mostly from items we found in our closets. To hide my 4-1/2 month baby bump I designed and sewed my own loose-fitting top, which was kind of a mess on the inside, but success on the outside.

Some of the other performances that took place that night included: strolling hecklers, magicians, clowns, chinese dancers, acrobats, unicyclers, stilt walkers and fire dancers. Check back soon for video footage of the evening.
