Kayla and I recently went to the Rox nightclub to see “Werid Ass Trio” perform. They are a threesome comprised of Heatbox, Nicholas “The Feelin” Mrozinski, and Maxaphone. They put on a really great show filled with funky songs that are all great for gettin’ down. We toted our rainbow LED hoops along just in case they decided to invite the Twistin Vixens back up on stage like they did last time they visited St. Cloud. After we danced in the crowd through their entire first set, they returned from their break and called us up on stage. We jumped up there and hooped our hearts out.
Our favorite part of the night was when the band came up with “a bad case of the hula hoop face…” freestyle in the middle of a song while Heatbox videotaped himself with our hula hoops swirling above his head in the background. Fortunately we got that on our video, along with bits of “Lordy, Lordy” and “Riders on the Storm.”
It was an incredibly fun night and we hope the audience enjoyed watching us as much as we enjoyed being up there hooping! Perhaps someday we’ll have the privilage of hooping with them on a larger stage.
