Hoop Dance Half-time Show for SCAR Dolls

Photos by Jon Helm of LYDF.

Last weekend we had the honor of providing the half-time entertainment for the SCAR Dolls (Saint Cloud Area Roller Derby). It was a home team match-up of the Gargoyle Brigade vs. the Pin-Up Prowlers. We performed for a full house at Bernick’s Arena in Sartell, and it was probably the largest captive audience we’ve gotten to hoop in front of so far. Our hoop dancing lasted 16 minutes and we went all out. We did our best to choose music appropriate for the event which included “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways, “One Way or Another” by Blondie, “Wikked Lil’ Girls” by Esthero, “Bad Reputation” by Joan Jett, and “Comin’ Around” by Juliette & The Licks. The audience loved our hooping performance and we had a really great time. Big thanks to the SCAR Dolls for extending the invitation our way!

We did get video of the event, which we hope to share with you sometime next week, and possibly some additional photos from another photographer as well.
