Over the holiday both Kayla and I kept our hoops close at hand. Although we were not together, we both wound up doing some impromptu hoop dance performances.
On Saturday the 2nd I traveled to Milwaukee, WI with Andy to visit family and see Stephen Marley perform at Summerfest. I brought my LED hoop with me and hardly put it down during his entire set. At one point my hoop escaped me and landed on a guy carrying 3 full beers, but lucky for me another man who was a fan of my hooping skills took care of that for me. Thanks dude! Then on Monday I was added to the line-up of Waterloo’s first ever 4th of July parade. It was a good experience, but next time I will opt to dance on a float or trailer rather than speed-walk-hoop-dancing on foot. Talk about heat exhaustion.
Kayla drew all the attention away from the parade she attended in Ward Springs, MN on the 4th when she showed off her hoop dance moves on the sidelines. She also performed on stage at Rockville Rockfest Days this Saturday evening. Unfortunately I was not able to join her, but I was having fun hosting a BBQ for my family and friends after the our hoop dance class in the park.
Next weekend you will find my colorful collection of hoops and me hooping my ever lovin’ butt off in the crowds and campgrounds at Moondance Jam In Walker, MN.
The Twistin Vixens next official performance will be over the 12 o’clock lunch hour on Friday, July 22nd for Summer on the Plaza at the Hennepin County Government Center. So if you are anywhere in the vicinity come check us out!
Hey There Vixens!
I Just wanted to say that I had a blast joining in at the Hoop Class July 9th.
I had a wonderful experience traveling with my collapsible hoop from California to visit. My hoop was very easy to travel with through the air port and came on board as a carry on. Once the hoop is collapsed i was surprised to find out that it fits in the overhead storage. I found out that due to federal regulations and flight rules, airline staff will not allow you to keep your hoop in front of your seat with you. So save your self any possible trouble and just be prepared to store it in the over head compartments but be careful for other luggage.
Now that I’m back home i couldn’t wait to bring my Hula hoop out to the beach and park to practice some new moves with the tips and tricks passed on.
Thanks so much and Hoop you continue to inspire others.
I cant wait till we Hoop around together some more.
Peace & Love
