On Friday and Saturday, June 14-15, 2024 we had the pleasure of putting on hoop dance performances at the Wild West Show presented by Wild Creek Entertainers at El Rancho Manana in Avon, MN.
Friday night after dark we broke out our LED hoops for the crowds. The stage lights were dimmed and three of us took turns at solo performances, followed by a choreographed hoop routine featuring all three of us. The crowd seemed pretty impressed and encouraged us with some good old hootin’ and hollerin’ then showered us with compliments following our show.
Saturday the weather decided it wasn’t going to cooperate and rain continued steadily from about noon on. As a result, our interactive hoop station was unsuccessful due to the lack of dry space and brave people to try out the hula hoops. We did, however, manage to successfully carry out our daytime performance for those few people left in the crowd who held strong through the damp day. Again we each put on solo performances in the steadily increasing rain and finished with a choreographed group hoop dance. We were totally drenched by the end!
