Hula Hooping World Record Attempt

Hula hooping for world record attempt

By Amy Imdieke and Carrie Hyöppönen

Bright and early on the morning of July 8th we made the drive to Loring Park in Minneapolis to participate in Studio Booya!’s attempt to beat the Guinness World Record for the most people hula hooping at one time.

Since taking 3 levels of classes with Colleen and Kayla of the Twistin Vixens at the beginning of the year, we have had one thing on our minds – hooping! We’re truly addicted and love any opportunity to hoop it up.

Upon arriving at Loring Park, we registered and met some of the wonderful people from Studio Booya! We spent a couple hours hooping to wonderful music by Jimmi and the Band of Souls and other great acts.

Even though the Guinness World Record was not broken that morning, we had a great time. It was amazing to see so many people of different ages and hooping abilities in one place with big smiles on their faces. We also spread the enthusiasm to people passing by who enjoyed watching the fun and excitement of the event. Studio Booya! definitely lived up to their tagline as a studio for joyful expression.
